PRESS RELEASE

Martos Gallery Los Angeles is pleased to present EBB, an exhibition by Jory Rabinovitz on view from January 30 - March 14, 2015 with an opening reception on January 30 from 6 - 8 pm.

To make this new body of work on view, Rabinovitz traveled to Los Angeles for the month of January where the artist harvested rain water for processes, pennies for their copper and oxidized the metal for its pigment. The central sculpture falls through the roof allowing rain water to enter the gallery and be retained in its base, while the three wall sculptures pour out of the walls onto benches below made for visitors of the exhibition to sit on.

Most recently, Rabinovitz has had solo shows at the SculptureCenter, Long Island City; Martos Gallery, New York and Abrons Art's Center, New York and has been featured in group shows at Tanya Leighton, Berlin; Off Vendome, Düsseldorf; Galerie Balice Hertling, Paris and Night Gallery, Los Angeles. Rabinovitz has received numerous awards and residencies including The Rema Hort Mann Foundation Visual Art Grant (2012) and the Emerging Artist Fellowship, Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City, NY (2010). He lives and works in New York, NY.
